BROT provided specialist multilateral (MLT) engineering support across preparation and offshore execution. Its scope included junction-system equipment and interface review, participation in system integration testing (SIT) and test-result follow-up, installation-procedure review, assessment of BHA configurations, and technical support to the operator’s drilling team. This connected the completion design with the practical requirements of running and installing it in the well. The work also focused on equipment readiness, operational interfaces and capturing lessons for subsequent multilateral operations.
Introducing a completion architecture that is new to an operator requires more than selecting a junction system. Equipment, procedures and responsibilities must fit the actual well programme, with technical support available as the operation progresses offshore.
The milestone illustrates the role MLT specialist engineering can play alongside the operator and completion technology provider: carrying the engineering intent through preparation and into successful field execution. BROT is now extending that principle beyond individual projects – turning field-proven MLT experience into structured, traceable engineering methodology and progressively encoding it into modern decision-support tools for future projects.
