Vallourec is supplying Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), world leader in Shipbuilding and Offshore Industry, with over 1700 t of pipe for the world's largest FPSO for the Egina offshore oilfield in Nigeria.; the project management team of the Pipe Project Division is coordinating quality planning, production and delivery for over 250 different items from the mills in France, Germany and Brazil. The FPSO will be 330 m long, 61 m wide and 34 m high. The topside alone, where the pipes will be installed, will weigh 47 500 t.
In association with a local Nigerian company (Bell Oil & Gas) Vallourec has already delivered for EGINA Project the full package of 24 000 t premium subsea line pipe: 16 000 t of flowlines used for production, water injection and gas export lines, and 8000 t for a riser pipe-in-pipe construction. In line with new Nigerian Content act, Vallourec has also provided in country project management along with training for Nigerian engineers.
